Authoring a DITA Document
Full-featured, robust editing solution enables authors to quickly and easily create and edit DITA-compliant content in WYSIWYG mode regardless of their DITA or XML knowledge and experience. As easy to use as a word or text processing application, authors are able to create and edit content in a familiar environment. The Web-based editor is entirely implemented in JavaScript™ and simply embeds into virtually any CMS, ensuring the entire DITA documentation lifecycle is supported.

Authors create and edit DITA-compliant content regardless of their DITA or XML knowledge. As easy-to-use as a word or text processing application the complexities of the underlying markup are hidden. Experts are given the option to work within the XML view to access the code, structure, tags, attributes and elements.

Drag & Drop Editing Capabilities
Users can utilize WYSIWYG capabilities to move elements by dragging and dropping elements in a DITA Map.
The newly added change mode enable users to exhibits accumulated changes. This includes changes by every author and changes can be accepted or rejected. Change tracking information is stored in the XML document as a set of processing instructions.
Allows for validation of outgoing links to other documents by simply accessing the ‘Validate Links’ button on the toolbar. Invalid links are then highlighted in the document.
DITA Storm handles copy and paste operation with ease. Simply copy the content from a third party text processors or HTML document and paste it in DITA Storm.
On demand validation is available instantly. DITA Storm also facilitates data converted from other sources; including when the content is not well-formed, or does not comply with the DITA standard and needs manual editing.
Allows users to change, auto generate, and verify element IDs in the current document. The ID management screen is activated from the toolbar button or when an internal link is create.
Highlights portions of the content, tagged with ditaval attributes. A ditaval file is the mechanism that takes metadata and defines filtering conditions for the build. Like the map file and the XSL transforms, the ditaval file is read by the build and used to drive the filtering process as the output stream is created. The ditaval file essentially contains two things: conditions to be matched and actions to be taken when they’re found.

Integrating DITA Storm Developer
Implemented entirely in JavaScript™, Developer easily embeds into virtually any CMS or Web application, creating an end-to-end solution that ensures the entire DITA documentation lifecycle is supported. Either attach to the text field of a HTML form, or load DITA documents directly via an HTTP request. Integrate Developer as both a natural replacement of the text editing form fields and as an editor of a DITA server document. A simple JavaScript interface loads and retrieves modified DITA XML documents.
Change definitions of existing elements or create new elements and specializations. Work with the information structure specific to your organization.
A number of extension points within the editor allow organizations to broaden its functionality, providing a better user experience and deeper integration into a CMS or Web application.
